The Ortega Story

Our Journey

In the lush, tropical state of Kerala, amidst the vibrant backwaters and spice-laden air, Ortega Catering was founded by Paul Kurian in 2022. Paul, deeply inspired by his heritage and global culinary experiences, aimed to blend traditional Kerala flavors with modern techniques.

Paul's journey began in his family's spice plantation, where he learned the art of blending spices. After studying at a prestigious culinary school abroad, he returned to Kerala with a vision. Ortega Catering, named to evoke the spirit of culinary exploration, quickly gained a reputation for its innovative and authentic dishes.

Starting with local events, Paul’s unique take on Kerala cuisine—like citrus-infused meen pollichathu and avial with exotic vegetables—captivated guests. Word spread, and soon Ortega was catering high-profile events, including a gala for the state’s chief minister.

Despite his growing success, Paul remained dedicated to quality and creativity, ensuring that Ortega Catering was not just a business but a celebration of Kerala’s rich culinary heritage.
